School VS Video Games – The Good and The Bad Side of Each

As young kids, we’ve been thought to always stay in school and learn from our teachers. It’s a norm of society, however, as kids, we’re also inclined to be more self-loathing and even at times rebellious of certain commands to us. As a kid, growing up, I always felt the need to go to school, not because of what my parent’s say, but rather I think it’ll help me somehow, yet despite this mindset, I was really into gaming and often times made bad calls for picking either school and gaming.

Right now, kids are highly torn between these two, the call of duty and the call of pleasure as they say. With that in mind, let’s dig in further on the subject, find out their good and bad sides and know how you, as a young lad or lady could manage your playtime, with school time.

Schooling out life

The school isn’t technically a requirement for an individual to be recognized, however, it’s quite a form of differentiation between individuals. As normal society would say, the well-educated will have better opportunities than those who couldn’t have an education. It’s quite a discriminatory mindset, though at some point, its true in a way that education provides better job and career opportunities. Having a diploma equipped will always give you the edge in job seeking and will always be a priority pick for positions. However, despite these all being true, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re right.

The school teaches us to be highly knowledgeable, but sometimes experience itself is the best teacher. Not, but some schools rarely provided its students with hands-on experience in real-life situations, which makes them all unaware of what to expect when to graduate. It seems that today’s society seemingly just uses school as a formality rather than a necessity. The sad part about this is people who’ve given up a lot of their years for school won’t even have a chance to use them in the field since most likely they’ll land a job that is not incorporated with what they learned, a sad yet true story.

No game, no life

On the other side of the coin lies pleasure, or to some video games. Those, like myself once loved gaming and would rather play games and socialize through games, rather than spend my time in school. However, i completely know that school was something i shouldn’t take for granted and somehow, learned to balance both back in college.

However, today, many young students have become so well-endowed in gaming that they would rather play than learning from school, a mindset i could totally relate. This provokes them to do various reckless attempts to game, instead of going to school and even sometimes resort to various criminal activities to continue their game. This is the sad truth about video game addiction and how kids these days would rather play or enjoy pleasurable things than indulged themselves in learning.

Gaming has its good points, though, it serves as a quick getaway from the stressful world of reality and simply enjoy another form of life. However, too much of everything isn’t always a good thing and thus, gaming addiction is a real threat for young student gamers.

A clash of both worlds – School VS Video games

The conflict between this two is hard to fix. Sometimes it’s easier to say that you can manage your time than actually doing it. I’ve tried various ways of balancing things out and at first, it’s rather hard, since you’ll have to adapt to certain scenarios where you feel like you’re forcing yourself to do. So here’s a few tips to know when balancing out both worlds.

Know your priorities

By knowing your priorities, you can safely chop of tasks and playtime with ease. If you can squeeze out a couple of minutes of game time from certain school-related activities, it’s a good thing. Since most likely, you’ll be craving for gaming after the activity and would lose track of time when you begin gaming again.

School time should receive all your focus

It’s not easy to not think about gaming, especially when you’re addicted, however, thinking about it too much would often time lead you to eventually succumbing to your gaming desire. Make sure to only think about school time when school time is in play. I know its gonna be really hard to do so and you might actually lose a couple of times to your urges, but always trying it out would eventually help you become more focused on school time, instead of always thinking about games.

Try to study with friends

I know to some this can rather be a bad idea, especially if you’re buddies are all gamers, however, this does give you guys a good sense of responsibility, especially if the others are studying. If you see the others studying, then most likely you’ll be inclined to join them in their study session and that will serve as a good time to improve your school time focusing capability.

Gaming and School are really hard to balance, but if manage to do so, then most likely, it’s a sweet breeze. School and Video games, like everything else, has its rather flawed and solidified side, which you should know to clearly avoid the flaws and solidify the “solids”.
