Samsung Electronics has announced on their website that the LPDDR4X DRAM has been officially discontinued.

Despite this, Samsung will still continue to fulfill existing orders, with production expected to run until the end of 2026.
After that, both LPDDR4 and LPDDR4X will be officially phased out as the company prepares to shift its production lines.
Looking back, LPDDR4 and LPDDR4X have been in mass production for around 8 to 10 years.
LPDDR5 offers faster speeds, reaching up to 6.4Gbps, compared to about 4.3Gbps for LPDDR4X.

Samsung is also continuing to convert its production lines to support newer technologies.
At its Hwaseong facility, the company is transitioning certain lines from older memory production to more advanced DRAM processes.
As mentioned, Samsung will continue to fulfill existing orders, with final production and fulfillment of remaining contracts running until 2026.
