Samsung The Freestyle+ AI-powered portable projector unveiled

Samsung Electronics has announced the global launch of The Freestyle+ ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas.

The Freestyle+ is an AI-powered portable projector designed to provide a more adaptable and customized entertainment experience in a variety of settings.

The portable projector integrates an AI OptiScreen feature, which is Samsung’s AI-powered screen optimization technology that automatically modifies the image based on the projection environment. The system is built to adjust the image to various surfaces and room conditions without the need for manual calibration.

The AI OptiScreen includes a set of AI features that are intended to automatically optimize the image in a variety of settings and surfaces:

  • 3D Auto Keystone automatically adjusts image distortion when projecting onto non-flat or uneven surfaces, such as angled walls, corners, or curtains.
  • Real-time Focus maintains image clarity by continuously adjusting focus during rotation or movement.
  • Screen Fit allows the image to be automatically resized to match the projection area when a compatible projector screen accessory is used.
  • Wall Calibration examines the projection surface’s color or pattern to lessen visual distractions while watching.

The system is further supported by Samsung’s personalized AI platform for screens called Vision AI Companion, which allows for more organic, conversational interaction with on-screen content by integrating improved Bixby with AI services from the brand’s global partners.

Moreover, The Freestye+ features a compact cylindrical form factor that makes it easy to carry or move between rooms. It delivers 430 ISO Lumens, which Samsung claimed is nearly twice the brightness of the previous generation.

The portable projector has a 180-degree rotating design, which can support projection from different viewing angles. It comes with built-in access to Samsung TV Plus, certified OTT service partners, and Samsung Gaming Hub.

The audio is being handled by a built-in 360-degree speaker and supports Q-Symphony for synchronised playback with compatible Samsung soundbars.

The Freestyle+ will be showcased by Samsung at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, with a phased global rollout planned for the first half of 2026.
