After reviewing the Galaxy J1 mini, the slight downgraded version of Galaxy J1 Nxt, now it’s time to put it up for some gaming test. With an $80 price tag and quite modest specs, could the J1 mini handle some stress? Well, let’s move on the gaming review to find out.
Our first game on the line is the Clash Royale online game. The Galaxy J1 mini handles the game quite well with the simultaneous attacks and charging time. We tested the game while in low-level mode and few graphic effects, but I think the Galaxy J1 mini could still handle the clashes even when moving to higher levels.
Next, a water boat racing game and Galaxy J1 seems to handle the high-speed game without any problem. The gyroscope sensor inside is working smoothly.
Next game is the all-time favorite and graphics-intensive Asphalt 8 Airborne. While driving, I noticed some minor stutter in the system and mild drops in frames, but overall, I am impressed on how it managed to complete the entire race without major latency.
Last is the 1st person shooter game, Modern Combat 5. The slight delayed between touch inputs and screen response is noticeable. Still, the game worked smoothly all the way in every mission.
Fairly speaking, the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini impressed us in its gaming review. I can’t imagine such small device with a budget hardware could run these games without major problems.
