Just recently, Samsung made the new Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro official as a new upgraded rendition of the original Samsung Galaxy A9. Let’s all take a look at what are the major changes that Samsung did to the newer A9 Pro.

A bigger RAM

Samsung might have felt that the newer A9 Pro needed more kick in the RAM department and upgraded it 4GB of RAM, instead of the 3GB seen on the original variant. This should dramatically increase the performing capability of the handset and 4GB of RAM is slowly becoming a norm of high-end mid-rangers in the market.

A better camera

The original Galaxy A9 packed a typical 13MP rear shooter, so with the introduction of the Galaxy A9 Pro, it was a no-brainer that the standard 13MP rear camera gets a boost. The Galaxy A9 Pro packs a bigger 16MP rear shooter that in paper should deliver better outputs, but feels like it’s rather not big of an upgrade.

An upgraded battery capacity

The original Samsung Galaxy A9 already packs a  pretty decent 4000mAh battery capacity on its own, but Samsung took things up a notch with an upgraded 5000mAh battery capacity. The bigger 5000mAh battery is one of the huge factors that makes the A9 Pro a better pick over the original one and for a good reason at that.

An out-of-the-box Marshmallow OS

The Samsung Galaxy A9 packs a relatively older Android 5.1 Lollipop on its back, however, like many Samsung handsets in the market, it is expected to receive the Marshmallow update sometime this year. However, the big difference between the two is that the Galaxy A9 Pro has an updated out-of-the-box Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, which doesn’t require the user to wait up for the update anymore.

  1. I don’t know if it’s quite worth the upgrade in terms of price. I believe the added benefits of a slightly better camera, bigger battery, and updated OS are very nice, but don’t necessarily warrant the extra cost over the regular A9.

  2. i am really wondering why samsung has this on their website but it can nowhere be found in Philippine stores. i do not like buying from online store due to warranty reasons.
