Samsung has unveiled a new entry-level smartphone in the Philippine market. According to Samsung, the device will offer up to 6 generations of OS upgrades and 6 years of security maintenance.
The device boasts a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with up to 90Hz refresh rate. It has a resolution of FHD+ 2340 x 1080 pixels.
The new addition to the A series has a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro. For selfies, it has a 13MP front camera shooter.
Under the hood, the A16 5G offers Dimensity 6300 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. External storage support is also available up to 1.5TB via MicroSD.
Battery-wise, the device is packed with a standard 5000mAh battery and 25W wired charging.
For the 8GB + 256GB configuration, the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G is priced at PHP13,990.
Samsung will offer up to six years of OS upgrades and 6 years of security maintenance, which means security updates are valid until September 30, 2030.
