Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini will get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in the second quarter of 2015, Samsung confirmed earlier today.
A Galaxy S5 Mini user inquired via Twitter about the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, and Samsung France replied in French translated as, ‘For #GalaxyS5mini, the update will be available in the second quarter 2015!’
The firm provided no further information about this.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, the older Galaxy Note II was planned by Samsung Poland to get Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The company on its Twitter account replied to a user saying that the Galaxy Note II will receive the update, but likewise didn’t reveal any further information.
Samsung also reportedly began inputting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its phablet flagship, the Galaxy Note 4. The Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 first started rolling out in Poland, and then later same week to users in South Korea, according to Sammobile. The update is said to be available through via Samsung Kies software, and is possible that the update may soon become available over-the-air.
The South Korea update is said to be based on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, carry build number N910SKSU1BOB4, and be currently rolling out for Galaxy Note 4 users on SK Telecom. While there was no official announcement from Samsung for the rollout, the report had suggested that it shouldn’t be long before other major carriers in the country start pushing out the update.
