Samsung Display, the division responsible for designing and producing displays for its parent company, just confirmed that they are working on innovative rollable and slidable screens for their upcoming Samsung phones.
During CES 2021, LG presented a glimpse of their rollable phones which is similar to what Samsung is working on confirmed the senior vice president of the display unit of Samsung, Choi Kwon-young. This was revealed when Samsung published its 2020 financial reports and earnings outlook.
The phone will likely be available within the year confirmed by Kwon-young and it will be Samsung Display’s first rollable and slidable phone. We can also expect that Samsung’s mobile telecommunications will be the first OEM to launch rollable technology.
This will surely be a huge innovation to the company which will pave new technologies for future generations. Hopefully, Samsung will reveal more of their new innovations to the public.
