Aside from the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 9 5G, the company also announced the Redmi Note 9 4G. No, this isn’t the same phone that went under the same moniker, but a re-branded POCO M3 with a boring design and same innards.
Redmi Note 9 4G is already available for purchase in China for a starting price of CNY 999(~Php7,300) for the 4GB/128GB model. The 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB variants are priced at CNY 1099(~Php8,000), CNY 1299(~Php9,500), and CNY 1499(~Php10,900), respectively.
Like we’ve just mentioned, the entry-level phone is the POCO M3 in a different outfit. You won’t see the huge camera visor here as it’s now replaced with your typical rectangular camera hump. It still houses the same number of sensors, but the secondary sensor now includes an 8MP ultrawide. The 6000mAh battery still supports an 18W fast charger, though.
Looking at the Redmi Note 9 4G, it’s an uninteresting device despite the massive battery. And with the new design gone, there’s not a lot to boast about here.
