Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G Gaming Review

We’re back with another gaming review, and this time, we’re testing the performance of the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G. Can it handle the games we usually play? Let’s find out!

Game Test #1: Mobile Legends

Starting with competitive titles, the first one is Mobile Legends. The default settings are high frame rate paired with high graphics quality, but since super frame rate and ultra graphics are available, we’ll bump them up.

Even at the highest settings, we didn’t encounter any performance issues.

The gameplay was smooth, with no stutters or frame drops. The lowest FPS recorded was 86, which is great. However, the device did feel a bit warm after one game. So, with a super frame rate and ultra graphics, we got around 86 to 92 FPS.

Game Test #2: League of Legends: Wild Rift

Next is League of Legends: Wild Rift. In the opening sequence, we noticed some stutters and freeze frames. By default, the settings are set to Quality mode at 30 FPS. Let’s max it out—120 FPS, high graphics quality, and medium resolution. During gameplay, the performance was smooth with no stutters.

FPS remained above 60, and there were no drops during clashes, which is great. The only issue was with the opening sequence. So, with 120 FPS, high graphics, and medium resolution, we got 77 to 88 FPS during clashes and 116 to 120 FPS out of combat.

Game Test #3: Call of Duty Mobile

Moving on to Call of Duty: Mobile, the default settings are Very High graphics and Very High frame rate. Ultra frame rate is available but can only be paired with Low graphics quality.

The gameplay was smooth with no stutters, but the device struggled to maintain a steady 60 FPS. Despite this, the overall experience was good with minimal issues. So, with an Ultra frame rate and Low graphics, we got around 57 to 61 FPS.

Now, let’s move on to graphically demanding games.

Game Test #4: Wuthering Waves

First is Wuthering Waves, set to Lowest settings with 60 FPS. Despite using low settings, there were many frame drops during combat, especially when multiple animations were on screen.

However, during exploration, performance was more stable. If you want to maintain higher FPS, it’s best to avoid combat, as performance tends to be inconsistent. With Lowest + 60 FPS, we got around 34 to 43 FPS in exploration and 23 to 34 FPS in combat.

Game Test #5: Zenless Zero

Next is Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ), also set to Lowest settings with 60 FPS. In the Overworld, FPS ranged from 27 to 31 when roaming Sixth Street, with minor stutters. However, in Lumina Square, stutters were more prominent, and FPS dropped from 20 to 25. Unfortunately, combat performance was poor, with FPS dipping drastically depending on the animations on screen.

During fights, FPS ranged from 9 to 30, making it difficult to play endgame content. If you’re only doing dailies, it’s manageable, but for serious gameplay, this device isn’t ideal for ZZZ. With Lowest + 60 FPS, combat FPS ranged from 12 to 24, while exploration FPS was around 25 to 33.

Game Test #6: Genshin Impact

Lastly, Genshin Impact, also set to Lowest + 60 FPS, provided a smoother overworld experience than the previous two games. Inside the Abyss, combat felt smooth with no major frame drops or stutters, even when switching characters and using ultimates.

Compared to Wuthering Waves and ZZZ, Genshin Impact was much more enjoyable to play on Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G. With Lowest + 60 FPS, exploration FPS ranged from 34 to 44, while combat FPS ranged from 38 to 41.

Conclusion

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is a solid choice for competitive gaming, delivering smooth performance with high frame rates in titles like Mobile Legends, Wild Rift, and Call of Duty: Mobile.

However, for graphically demanding games, performance was inconsistent, especially in combat-heavy scenarios. If you’re planning to play dailies on gacha games, it’s still a decent option, but for intense gameplay, you might need a more powerful device.
