Redmi A1 vs Realme C30 – Specs Comparison

The Redmi A1—Redmi’s newest low-cost smartphone—was unveiled last week in India. The phone, which is a new series from the company, is intended to compete with the Redmi 9A Sport and the Realme C30 in the sub-7000 INR market by offering good value for the money. In a recent comparison, we contrasted the Redmi A1 with the 9A Sport; today, let’s see how the model performs against the Realme C30, a brand rival. The Realme C30 is a more recent gadget than the 9A Sport, having been released back in June 2022. It would therefore be more appropriate to compete with the Redmi A1, which was also only just unveiled.

DESIGN

As we’ve observed in past comparisons, the designs of less expensive phones have improved greatly from being dull and repetitive to appearing much more quality and distinctive. The Redmi A1 and Realme C30, the two devices up for comparison today, fit this description. However, the two phones’ designs take distinct tacks.

The Redmi A1 has a more subdued appearance with vibrant colors and rounded edges, giving it a straightforward yet upscale appearance. The light green and blue color selections in especially feel wonderful, and it does not appear cheap.

The realme C30, on the other hand, has a more distinctive design with a striped pattern running the whole height of the back. The C30 will be easy to recognize right away, and with two color choices—Lake Blue and Bamboo Green—you have a look that sticks out in its price range.

Despite having displays that are almost the same size, the Redmi A1 is somewhat larger than the Realme C30 in terms of dimensions. The Realme C30 is 164.1 x 75.6 x 8.5mm whereas the Redmi A1 is 164.9 x 76.5 x 9.1mm. As you can see, the C30 is smaller than the Redmi model both in width and thickness. In addition, the C30 weighs 182 grams as opposed to 192 grams for the Redmi variant.

DISPLAY

The specifications and screens of these $100 smartphones will be quite similar. The 6.52-inch IPS LCD screen on the Redmi A1 has a 400 nit brightness and an 81.4% screen-to-body ratio. A 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with 400 nits of brightness and an 82% screen-to-body ratio is also included on the Realme C30. Their HD+ screens each offer a 1600 x 720-pixel resolution.

The two phones are tied in terms of display, without a doubt.

SPECS

The two phones use entry-level processors, which are typical in the low-cost market. The quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 CPU with a 2.0GHz clock speed is included in the Redmi A1. The Realme C30, on the other hand, has an octa-core Unisoc Tiger T612 CPU with a 1.8GHz clock speed. Although the Realme model should have a little bit more power due to the octa-core architecture, don’t anticipate any appreciable differences in their actual performances.

It would be best to avoid purchasing either phone if you want to play games intensively. If you are ready to spend extra money, the Realme C30 provides you with a higher-end storage choice. The Realme C30 has a maximum of 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage, while the Redmi A1 is limited to 2GB RAM and 32GB of storage. Make careful to compare alternative options in the price range with superior specs if you intend to pay extra for the greater storage type.

Given their low-end technology, both phones rely on Google’s Android GO Edition. While the Realme C30 has the more dated Android 11 Go version, the Redmi A1 comes with the latest Android 12 Go edition without MIUI.

CAMERAS

Entry-level smartphones’ cameras are seldom their strongest feature, and that is also true of the two smartphones we are reviewing today. The Redmi A1 has two cameras: an 8MP primary camera and a 0.3MP secondary camera. Dual LED flash supports the arrangement. You can probably guess that the secondary camera won’t be very useful, but the main shooter ought to be able to get acceptable daytime pictures.

The Realme C30 has a single 8MP camera and a solitary LED flash.

Both phones offer a basic 5MP front-facing camera for taking selfies and making video calls.

CONNECTIVITY

The two phones include Bluetooth 5.0 with LE compatibility and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n. They both still have microUSB 2.0 slots, which is unfortunate. Also, both phones lack a fingerprint sensor due to their entry-level profiles.
