Tencent Games and RedMagic has recently announced their next line of gaming smartphones which is packed with features and improvements from its predecessor. The gaming phones will be known as RedMagic 6 and 6 Pro.
The two phones have a 6.6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen that has a refresh rate of 165Hz. It also has a 500Hz single finger touch sampling rate and 360Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate with Touch Choreographer. This technology is intelligent as well as adaptive especially when it comes to choosing the appropriate refresh rate needed between 60Hz/90Hz/120Hz/165Hz that is based upon the activity the user does that would be more comfortable and would save battery power as well. It also has an 8ms response rate which is extremely responsive, a great help for gamers to play faster and hit hard on their enemies!
For the first time, the gaming phones will be using the CPHY-DSI technology which would provide better and high-quality images and utilizes 20-50% less power. There is also the 6th generation fingerprint sensor under the display and unlocks your phone 50% faster than the previous model.
The Tencent RedMagic 6 series has upgraded its cooling system and now uses the ICE 6.0 Multi-dimensional Cooling System accompanied with a built-in turbofan. This built-in centrifugal turbofan will be able to reach 20,000 rpm. The canyon air duct design helps to increase airflow in the heat transfer coefficient by 500%. Also, with this number of heat transfers, the CPU’s core temperature would drop up to 16°C, helping to a more efficient and stable performance from the core.
A large copper foil that covers the battery is included with a vapor chamber, which is 0.33mm, is behind the motherboard using a thermal paste. This will run smooth and cold while playing your favorite game on the RedMagic 6 series. Another additional feature is its brushless motor that helps conserve energy and produces 28 decibels of sound. The fan’s blades have increased to 59 and are 0.1mm thin, and have a maximum speed at the end of the blade of 14m/s.
At the back of the RedMagic 6 Pro, it has an aero-grade heat dissipation ice blade design. It uses a high thermal conductivity aviation aluminum alloy material that has a 200W/(mK) of thermal conductivity. This helps in heat dissipation as well as thermal conductivity at the back cover of the phone and helps lessen the tactile temperature of the fuselage surface up to 3-5 degrees.
These gaming phones are powered by Snapdragon 888 with 5G SA/NSA and an OS of RedMagic OS 3.0 based on Android 11. A RAM Boost memory compression technology is also included to increase the virtual memory of your phone. A 400GHz Dual Pro Shoulder Triggers and Classic gaming design features and even an RGB light strip. The RedMagic 6 Pro, has a battery capacity of 4,500mAh and a 120W quick charging that can juice up the phone for 17 minutes. The RedMagic 6 on the other hand has a 5,050mAh battery capacity with a 66W quick charging.
The two phones are priced differently. For the RedMagic 6, which comes in Black and Pulse colors, it starts with a price of 3,799 Yuan (PHP 38,429 est.) which packs 8GB + 128GB. Next is for the 12GB + 128GB variant would be priced at 4,099 Yuan (PHP 30,673 est.) and the 12GB + 256GB will have price tag of 4,399 Yuan (PHP 32,918).
When it comes with the 6 Pro, the starting price for the 12GB + 128GB variant is 4.399 Yuan (PHP 32,918 est.). For the 12GB + 256GB version, the price starts at 4,799 (PHP 35,912 est.) while the 16GB RAM + 256GB version has a price tag of 5299 Yuan (PHP 39,653 est.). The last two versions, 16GB + 256GB and 18GB + 512GB, will be priced at 5599 Yuan (PHP 41,898 est.) and 6599 Yuan (PHP49,382) respectively. These are available in Black and Silver colors.
For the Dual-core Ice Dock with dual fans and dual semiconductors, RGB lights and wing-shaped design will be sold separately and costs 179 Yuan (PHP8,702 est.). You can already pre-order your unit now and a sale will be launched on March 11 in China while a Global release is scheduled on March 16, 2021.
