Rachelle Ann Go Sings In New Cinderella Music Video

Filipina singer and award-winning West End stage star Rachelle Ann Go is rising to the top of her dreams. After playing the role of Gigi in the celebrated Broadway musical Miss Saigon – of which she received a lot of praises and international recognitions, Go has been chosen to sing her version of the theme for the live action ‘Cinderella’ film.

Rachelle was chosen by Walt Disney Studios Southeast Asia to sing the classic “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from the original animated fairy-tale in 1950. The ballad song was written and composed by Mack David, Al Hoffman and Jerry Livingston.

“We were looking for someone special, not just to sing the song beautifully but to also deliver the message reliably and inspire audiences,” said Amit Malhotra, General Manager of Walt Disney Studios, Southeast Asia.

“We chose Rachelle Ann Go as she embodies the positivity and inspirations of Cinderella, and is a living idol for young Filipinos everywhere who never stopped following her dreams.”

Rachelle Ann had also played in different princess’ role consisting of her debut as Ariel in the Manila production of ‘The Little Mermaid’ in 2011 and as Jane Porter in the stage adaptation of another Disney animated movie ‘Tarzan.’

The premiere showing of the music video ‘A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes’ was released on Disney Channel and Disney Channel Asia YouTube Channel earlier today, Saturday.

The Disney movie ‘Cinderella’ directed by British director Kenneth Branagh will roll out in cinemas nationwide on March 12, and will also be available in IMAX. Also the much-anticipated short ‘Frozen Fever’ will be exclusively featured before the movie starts.
