
With the introduction of new Snapdragon chipsets out of the bag, everyone should expect that Qualcomm is already out of things to throw at us, however, we could all be wrong, since recently, they also announced the upcoming new smartwatch targetted chip, the Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC.

The Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC, as its name suggests is primarily focused in different smartwatches and wearable devices that are set to take the center stage. The Snapdragon Wear 2100 has two variations, the tethered for Bluetooth WiFi support and connected for 4G LTE and 3G support. Features like “Always ON” and low-power usage are gladly equipped on the SoC. The Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC also consumes 25% less power than the Snapdragon 400 on both the tethered version and the connected version alike.

Right now, LG is currently looking to team up with Qualcomm to launch a few smartwatches in the market later this year, which will incorporate the latest Wearable SoC technology from Qualcomm. Though it is yet to be determined the exact date of their unveiling.
