Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, the latest addition to its 7-series chipset lineup.
The new processor succeeds last year’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and offers small gains in CPU and GPU performance, along with new gaming features.
The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 keeps the same 1+3+4 CPU layout on a 4nm process. Its Prime Cortex-A720 core now runs at 2.7GHz, up from 2.5GHz, while the other three Cortex-A720 cores (2.4GHz) and four Cortex-A520 cores (1.8GHz) remain unchanged. Qualcomm estimates a 7% improvement in CPU performance.

Graphics performance is also expected to see a 7% gain thanks to an updated Adreno GPU. The chip includes Snapdragon Game Super Resolution and Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0 for better visuals and smoother gaming.
The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 supports displays up to 2,900 × 1,300 pixels at 144Hz, making it suitable for high-refresh gaming phones and handhelds.
Camera support goes up to 200 megapixels, with 4K video recording at 30fps and HDR10/HDR10+.
For AI tasks, the improved Hexagon NPU supports lightweight models such as Llama 1B and Qwen 1B, enabling features like real-time translation.

The chipset supports sub-6GHz 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and aptX Lossless audio. Memory and storage are limited to LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1.
Qualcomm has not yet confirmed which smartphone will launch with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, though reports suggest an announcement is coming soon. Stay tuned!
