POCO F8 Pro Review

POCO recently launched the latest addition to its F series, and we had the chance to test one of its iterations, the POCO F8 Pro.

Equipped with a flagship-level chipset and a large battery, the device already promises a lot. But what else does it offer, and is it worth its price? Let’s take a closer look.

Design and Build

In terms of design, the POCO F8 Pro moves away from the rounded camera module of its predecessor.

Instead, it features a rectangular panel on the top side that houses all its camera sensors. The device has a glossy, reflective finish, which does attract fingerprints easily.

Personally, I preferred the previous design for its overall premium look, but the POCO F8 Pro still maintains a simple yet elegant aesthetic.

The phone feels solid and sturdy in the hand, thanks to its soft aluminum edges and rounded corners.

Weighing 199g, it feels slightly heavy but remains comfortable to hold. Despite its large battery, the device is fairly slim, with a thickness of just 8mm. Another highlight is its IP68 dust and water resistance, which adds to its overall durability.

Around the frame, you’ll find the power and volume buttons on the right side, a speaker grille on top, and another speaker grille at the bottom alongside the USB-C port, microphone, and SIM tray.

Display

Flipping the device over, the POCO F8 Pro boasts a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1156 x 2510 pixels.

It features a 120Hz refresh rate, 3500 nits of peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. Using it for multimedia consumption is a pleasure.

The display delivers crisp details, sharp colors, and excellent outdoor visibility. Viewing angles are impressive, with no noticeable color shifts even when viewed from the side.

Cameras

The POCO F8 Pro sports a triple-camera setup at the back, consisting of a 50MP OIS main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The front houses a 20MP punch-hole selfie shooter.

Rear Camera Sample Shots

Photos taken with the rear cameras are great for social media, offering sharp details and vibrant colors.

Lowlight Sample Shots

Some scenes may produce deep shadows or very dark blacks, but images remain clear overall. Low-light performance is adequate, though not outstanding.

Front Camera Sample Shots

For selfies, the device captures true-to-life skin tones with good detail and sharpness. Highlights are well managed, though colors are less vibrant compared to the rear cameras. In low-light conditions, selfies maintain accurate color tones but lose some detail.

For video, the rear camera supports up to 8K recording at 30FPS, while the front camera records up to 1080p at 60FPS.

Performance

Under the hood, the POCO F8 Pro is powered by the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Our review unit came with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, running on Android 16 with HyperOS 3. Out of the box, the device includes several pre-installed apps, which can be uninstalled easily.

Multitasking and day-to-day use are smooth and fast, with no noticeable lag. We also tested gaming performance with titles like Zenless Zone Zero on maximum settings, and the device handled them effortlessly. It did heat up slightly after extended gaming sessions on Shiyu Defence, but nothing alarming.

Battery and Charging

The POCO F8 Pro is backed by a 6210mAh battery and supports 100W HyperCharge.

In our video loop test, the device lasted approximately 17 hours and 13 minutes. Charging from 0 to 100% takes only about 45 minutes, which is impressive given the battery size.

Pricing and Verdict

The POCO F8 Pro is available in two variants: 12GB+256GB for PHP 29,999 and 12GB+512GB for PHP 31,999.

Overall, the POCO F8 Pro offers excellent value for its price. It delivers long battery life, solid performance, a premium display, and capable cameras.

The only notable downsides are its low-light photography and the lack of 4K video recording on the selfie camera. Whether you’re into gaming, productivity, or everyday use, the POCO F8 Pro is a well-rounded device that doesn’t disappoint.
