The POCO C40 was discreetly launched in the Philippines by Xiaomi Philippines via a social media post on its Facebook page.
As soon as the POCO C40 was introduced into the market, it created controversy. This is because it came with a chipset from an unknown brand at its unveiling. A Chinese company called JLQ is the company that manufactures the device, and an octa-core JR10 processor powers it. This processor is capable of clocking at 2.0 GHz. It is paired with a Mali-G52 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage.
As a result, POCO equipped the phone with a large display and a powerful battery to compensate for this. Even though the screen is 6.71-inch in size, it does have an HD+ panel—Corning Gorilla Glass benefits from being protected, which is a great feature.
In terms of battery life, the device comes with a massive 6,000mAh battery, which can last for up to 20 hours of continuous video playback. Even though the device comes with only a 10W adapter in the box, it contains 18W fast charging support.
The camera resolutions aren’t the sharpest on the market for a budget phone, but they should be sufficient for most users. The back of the phone has a dual-camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel depth camera. For selfies, there is a 5-megapixel camera on the front.
There is still Android 11 on the phone, but on top of it is MIUI 13 for POCO.

There is a suggested retail price of ₱7,499 for the POCO C40. However, on July 15, 2022, you can get this smartphone for only ₱5,999 at POCO’s authorized Shopee store.
