The company has been teasing the Oreo Open Beta update for the OnePlus 5T for a few weeks and just before the year ends, OnePlus have decided to roll out the OxygenOS 5.0 update. However, multiple issues were reported by the users that made the company cancel the rollout.

“Because of a bug on Oxygen 5.0, we have canceled its global release. And we’re preparing for Oxygen 5.0.1, the partial release will go alive soon.” said the OnePlus staff member on the company’s official forums.

Although it was canceled, it will be replaced by the newer OxygenOS 5.0.1 and a partial release will be rolled out soon. In addition, OnePlus 5 smartphones are confirmed to receive the Face Unlock feature currently found in the OnePlus 5T. Company co-founder, Carl Pei confirmed via Twitter that the Face Unlock feature will be coming to the OnePlus 5 but didn’t specify when.

There’s still no information on what are the features that will come with the update. We’ll surely update you when we get the info. Stay tuned!
