OPPO confirmed that the Find X5 series of smartphones will launch on February 24 in China. Apart from the Find X5 series, the brand will also be launching a TWS earbud, a new watch, and a tablet.
The company will also unveil a Dimensity Edition of the Find X5 Pro and will debut as the world’s first Dimensity 9000-powered smartphone.
To recap, MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9000 SoC was launched last year. It uses the new Armv9 architecture CPUs boasting one Cortex-X2 Ultra-Core clocked at 3.05GHz, three Cortex-A710 Super-Cores clocked at 2.85GHz and four Cortex-A510 Efficiency Cores. The chip also sports an ARM Mali-G710 MC10 GPU with the first raytracing SDK using Vulkan for Android and a 5th Generation AI (APU) processor, as well as Bluetooth 5.3 protocol support.
For specs, the OPPO Find X5 Pro Dimensity Edition is rumored to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED E4 display with a QHD+ resolution (3216 x 1440) and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the Dimensity 9000 SoC is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. For battery, it is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery that supports 80W fast wired charging as well as wireless and reverse charging.
For cameras, it is expected to sport a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera with dual OIS and Samsung S5K3M5 telephoto lens. Upfront is a 32MP Sony IMX709 selfie camera.
Other rumored specs include an Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1, IP68 rated chassis, In-display fingerprint scanner, X-axis linear motor, and dual stereo speakers. It will allegedly measure 163.7 x 73.9 x 8.5mm and weigh 216 grams.
