What’s inside the box?
The device came in a hard, navy blue and orange box with the smartphone’s name on top and the brand name at the side. The package contained the 6.4″ OPPO Find X, a wall adapter, a white microUSB Type-C cord, earphones, dongle, and a SIM ejector pin.
The Find X sports a glass front and back along with a metal frame. Its screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It measures 156.7 x 74.2 x 9.4 mm and weighs 186g. What’s unique about the smartphone is its full-screen display which was made possible by its motorized camera. No physical or capacitive buttons can be seen at the front since OPPO made use of on-screen buttons.
Moving on to the rear part of the device, the dual rear cameras with its LED flash are positioned at the center in a slider which automatically pops up when the user takes a picture or uses the face unlock feature. As for its logo, it can be found on the middle with the device name at the bottom.
The usual power button can be found on the right side of the smartphone while the volume rockers are located at the left. The bottom houses the speaker grille, USB Type-C port, a microphone, and the SIM tray whereas the top contains a sensor.
Overall, the OPPO Find X looks really minimalistic and elegant due to its glass design and color. Moreover, the color is printed in 3D giving the device a jade-like effect. Unfortunately, a downside for us was the smartphone’s glass rear back since it can easily be smudged with fingerprints.
The OPPO Find X features a 6.4″ AMOLED FHD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It has Panoramic Arc Screen which explains the size of its bezels. In addition, the smartphone’s screen was bright enough and it managed to produce a good color representation when we tried watching some movie trailers. The color also doesn’t change when viewed from different angles. We also tried taking some shots outside and we didn’t have any issues with looking at the screen.
Once again, the device has a full-screen display since the company included a motorized camera which contains both the rear and front one. An earpiece can also be seen along with the front camera.
The OPPO smartphone features a dual 16 MP (f/2.0) + 20 MP (f/2.0) rear cameras with an LED flash. It features AI Recognition, AI Beautification, AR Stickers, and AI Portrait mode. The device also sports a 25 MP front camera that supports AI.
We’ll be including some sample shots in our full review.
The OPPO Find X is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 along with an Adreno 630 GPU. It comes with 8GB of RAM and an internal storage of 256GB. The smartphone is fueled by a 3730mAh battery supported by VOOC Charge and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.
In terms of its security features, the Find X doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner. It does, however, contain a face unlock feature which automatically activates the motorized panel when you unlock the device.
