The design will fall under user preference as both features reflective glass-backing with color variations. Up front, it’s almost the same but we do like the smaller notch of the Oppo A7 giving more real estate for the status bar.
For media entertainment, expect better experience with the Huawei Y9 2019 thanks to its 1080p resolution display.
The performance difference is significant as Kirin 710 is more optimized and up-to-date compared to the entry-level Snapdragon 450. However, Oppo is introducing here its own “Hyperboost” technology to boost CPU and GPU performance when playing games such as PUGB, Arena of Valor, and FIFA.
Oppo’s latest midrange phone starts at 3GB/32GB and goes up to 4GB/64GB whereas its Huawei counterpart can go up to 6GB/128GB.
Both are sporting dual main cameras with a small difference in the lens but the front selfie camera deserves a debate as Huawei makes use of a dual camera for self-portrait shots while Oppo is boasting its AI-packed 16MP single shooter.
In terms of longevity, both are sporting at least 4000mAh battery. But if you’re looking to end the day with a bit of charge, Oppo A7 packs in the extra with 4230mAh in tow.
Huawei Y9 2019 is currently priced at Php12,990 while the Oppo A7 is expected to arrive at Php13,990. At this price point, it’s hard to recommend Oppo’s latest midrange phone.
