The blockbuster film ‘Rewind,’ starring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, which emerged as the top-grossing movie of the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), is facing a new challenge — and you probably know what it is — online piracy.
Reports reveal that pirated copies of the movie are circulating on various social media platforms, with Facebook being a major hotspot for unauthorized sharing.
Despite its huge success in theaters, these online pirated versions are gaining substantial attention online. According to PEP.ph, in just five hours, it reached 1.4 million views and 106,000 shares. This poses a significant threat to the film’s official distribution.
In response, ABS-CBN Films, Inc. is actively addressing the issue on social media, guiding users on reporting piracy instances. Concerned individuals are urged to send detailed emails to [email protected], using the subject line “Report Piracy (Name of Movie/Program).” Providing specific links to the pirated content is encouraged.
