At the much-anticipated Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 held in Barcelona, OnePlus showcased its newest wearable – the OnePlus Watch 2.
The smartwatch boasts a “Dual Engine Architecture” which features two distinct chipsets and operating systems: the Snapdragon W5 chipset and the BES2700 processor. The former is tasked with running Wear OS which offers users a plethora of functionalities. In contrast, the latter runs a real-time operating system (RTOS) at low power, guaranteeing maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
The OnePlus Watch 2 flaunts a 1.43-inch AMOLED panel with 466 x 466 resolution, 326PPI, 600 nits peak brightness (up to 1000 nits with High Brightness Mode), and a 2.5D Sapphire Crystal cover plate.
Its chassis is made of stainless steel, while its bottom case incorporates plastic (PC/PC+glass fiber) with two-color injection molding.
It measures 47.0 x 46.6 x 12.1mm as well as weighing around 80g (including the wrist strap) and about 49g (excluding the wrist strap).
Moreover, the smartwatch comes with a Smart Mode feature, allowing users to access applications like Google Maps, Assistant, Wallet, Calendar, Gmail, and more.
Sensors and tracking include a compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, light sensor, Sleep monitoring, Health monitoring, Blood oxygen monitoring, and 100+ sports modes.
For battery, it packs a 500mAh battery with up to 100 hours of regular use and up to 48 hours under heavy usage. Additionally, with Power Saver Mode which is powered by the RTOS, battery life can be extended up to 12 days while retaining essential functionalities.
For fast charging capabilities, it can juice up the smartwatch in 6 minutes with its 7.5W VOOC fast charger and a quick 10-minute charge ensures a full day of battery life in Smart Mode.
Connectivity includes dual-frequency GPS, Beidou, Galileo, GLONASS, and QZSS.
Other features include a 5 ATM water resistance rating, MIL-STD-810H standard for durability, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, and Wear OS 4.
The OnePlus Watch 2 is available in Black Steel and Radiant Steel variations.
