With the launch of OnePlus’ first-ever foldable smartphone—the OnePlus Open—the brand is now preparing to launch its successor next year, the OnePlus Open 2.
The OnePlus Open 2 will be the second-generation foldable smartphone from OnePlus. Leaks have now surfaced online revealing its design and specs.
According to the leakers, the device will have a thickness of 10mm, making it one of the slimmest foldable smartphones when it releases. In comparison to its predecessor, the OnePlus Open was 11.7mm thick.
The renders are said to be “based on a late-stage prototype” and will possibly change by the time the final design is released.
For specs, the OnePlus Open 2 is rumored to feature an 8-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 6.4-inch AMOLED outer screen. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage.
It is expected to pack a 5,900mAh battery capacity with 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.
For optics, it will allegedly be equipped with a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Front cameras are a 32MP sensor and a 20MP sensor. It will also sport a new rear camera layout, based on the leaked renders.
Other leaked specs include Android 15 with OxygenOS 15 on top, AI features, IPX8 water resistance, two memory configuration, and two colors including a black or gray version.
The OnePlus Open 2 is expected to be unveiled in China in early 2025 and in global markets within the first quarter of 2025.
Further information is yet to be revealed. Stay tuned for more updates.
