OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro Officially Debuts with Snapdragon 888 Chipset and OxygenOS 11 OS

The OnePlus 9 series has officially made its debut in the OnePlus launch event recently. The highlights are the OnePlus 9, the OnePlus 9 Pro, and the OnePlus 9R. right now, we would be looking at the specs and features of the first two mentioned smartphones.

The OnePlus 9 will feature a 6.55-inch AMOLED display that includes FHD+. It will also have a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the OnePlus 9 Pro will sport a bigger screen which would be 6.7-inch that showcases a QHD+ LTPO panel which is called the Fluid Display 2.0. it also has a 120Hz refresh rate. Both devices include an HDR10+ certification as well.

When it comes to chipsets, the two phones are powered by Snapdragon 888 and have 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. There will also be dual SIM-support, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and Bluetooth 5.2 for the two units. As for OS, the two smartphones will run at OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11. It will receive two OS upgrades and three years of security updates.

The battery capacity for both phones will be 4,500mAh which supports a Warp Charge 65T, an upgraded and faster version of Warp Charge 65. For the vanilla version, it will come with a 15W wireless charging, exclusive for Europe and North America. The 9 Pro on the other hand will have a 50W wireless charging support called the Warp Charge 50 Wireless.

When it comes to the camera department, OnePlus has partnered with Hasselblad to upgrade and offer a better camera experience to the user. As per usual, the OnePlus 9 Pro would get the best camera. For its main camera, it features a Sony IMX789 48MP sensor that has an f/1.8 aperture and OIS. It also has a Digital Overlap HDR (DOL-HDR), a 2 x 2 on-chip lens (OCL), and dual ISO. The main cam can shoot 12-bit RAW images which provide more color than regular cameras. Also, videos can be recorded in 4K at 120fps and in 8K at 30fps.

The next camera that comes with the main is a Sony IMX766 ultrawide that has a freeform lens that deposes distortion at the angles. The cam can also shoot 4CM macro images. There will also be an 8MP telephoto camera, which includes OIS that can give 3.3x optical zoom and up to 30x digital zoom, and a 2MP monochrome shooter that accompanies the main camera to shoot black and white images.

There will also be a camera app that showcases tons of features for the camera. A Hasselblad Pro mode is included which gives the user the option to shoot images similar to a Hasselblad camera. A Nightscape Mode is included as well which can record brighter and sharper videos under low-light.

When it comes to the OnePlus 9, it sports a Sony IMX689 48MP main camera that has a standard HDR. This includes a dual-native ISO, and similar to its 9 Pro counterpart, it also shoots a 12-bit RAW. OIS is not included and can record 4K videos at 60fps but can also record 9K at 30fps. It also comes with a 50MP ultrawide camera, that includes a Freeform lens and supports 4CM macro pictures, and a 2MP monochrome cam.

There will be a 16MP selfie camera for both smartphones.

For color variations, the OnePlus 9 will come at Winter Mist, Arctic Sky (include matte finish), and Astral Black (includes a matte film under a glossy back). The OnePlus 9 Pro will come with Pine Green, Morning Mist, and Stellar Black (that has a Sandstone-like appearance). As of the moment, it will be available in the USA, India, and Europe and will be priced which depends on its configurations. For the OnePlus 9, the 8G + 128GB version will be priced at €699 (PHP40,172 est.) while the 12GB + 256GB will have a price tag of €799 (PHP45,919 est.). The OnePlus 9 Pro will also come in two configurations, the 8GB + 128GB variation will be priced at €899 (PHP51,666 est.) and the 12GB + 256GB version will be at €999 (PHP57,413 est.). Pre-orders will start on March 26 and sales for the smartphones will commence on April 2. The international store would have to wait for announcements for the release of the two smartphones.
