Nokia 230 Nostalgia Phone is Official; Features 2.8-inch Display and Old School Specs

Microsoft recently officialized a few upcoming devices, the Nokia 230 and 230 Dual SIM variant. The Nokia 230 is a budget-wise, aluminum built handset, with a built-in front facing flash. Lets find out more about this newly revealed device.

The Nokia 230 packs a 2.8-inch display, with a 240p QVGA display. It has 16MB of RAM, which is a leap backward, in reminiscent of older times (oh the good ‘ol days). Theres no set internal storage, since as mentioned, internal storages are a thing of recent times and i don’t even know if Microsoft is simply dishing out this device for nostalgia’s sake, but i guess its something. Still, as to older devices, microSD card slots are the ultimate source of storage as to the 230, which has a 32GB microSD expandability limit.

A relatively out-of-date 2MP rear shooter is equipped on the 230. The rear shooter carries a flash, with the 2MP selfie shooter carrying the same type of flash, which can capture VGA videos. For connectivity, the latter packs a simple arsenal, with its 900MHz/1800MHz GSM support and a Bluetooth with a relatively older 3.0 version. It has an FM radio, 3.5mm jack and a microUSB port for charging. The Nokia 230 holds a 1200mAh battery.

The phone is mainly built in polycarbonate, which was all the craze back then. Its cool for Microsoft/Nokia to take the things a bit more simple, with every company right now trying to best each other in the field of making high – end devices, this device is a good hit in the nostalgia feels and simply a good throwback to a more simpler time, where phones weren’t heavily judged by numerous specs and features, but the quality they deliver. The Nokia 230 is priced at around $55 or roughly Php 2K in converted PH price and is expected to ride in December, though a global release is  yet to be determined.
