Reports from Bloomberg indicate that Apple‘s suppliers are in full swing, gearing up production for the much-anticipated new iPads set to debut in early May. According to insiders, the spotlight will be on revamped versions of the iPad Pro and iPad Air. While specifics have yet to be officially confirmed, insiders suggest that the Pro models will boast sharper OLED displays, while the iPad Air may introduce a 12.9-inch screen option for the first time.

With codenames like J717, J718, J720, and J721, the new iPad Pro models are expected to feature the latest M3 chip and compatibility with updated iterations of the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.

This marks the first major overhaul of the Pro lineup since 2018. On the other hand, the iPad Air, last refreshed in 2022 with the M1 chip, is anticipated to receive a new processor. The addition of the larger screen size could provide consumers with a more budget-friendly option compared to the higher-end Pro line.

Originally slated for a release by the end of March or early April, Apple’s meticulous attention to detail in software development and the intricate manufacturing process for the new screens have led to delays. However, an early May launch is now on the cards, conveniently preceding Apple’s upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference scheduled for June 10.

As anticipation builds for Apple’s next big reveal, with discussions around potential advancements in artificial intelligence and software updates across its product lineup, the question remains: Will these new iPads set the bar even higher for the tech giant?
