Netflix to Test Games in Canada and UK

As we’ve talked about before, Netflix is bringing its members a new level of gaming by making games available on TVs, computers, and mobile devices. This is a step toward making games available on all platforms where Netflix members watch content, like TVs, computers, and mobile devices. Two games, Oxenfree and Molehew’s Mining Adventure, will be part of a limited beta test that starts today in Canada and the UK.

Netflix is making it possible to use a cell phone as a mouse for games on TV. This turns a common item into a fun way to play games. For people who use PCs and Macs, keyboard and mouse movements are enough.

The games will work on many different devices, such as the Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV, LG TVs, and Samsung Smart TVs. More devices will be added to the list, which shows that Netflix wants to improve its users’ gaming experience.

The goal of the limited beta is not only to try the game streaming technology and the new controller, but also to slowly improve the member experience. Even though the company knows they’re just starting out with games, the excitement is clear. This project shows that Netflix is still committed to serving a wide range of hobbies and turning casual viewers into gamers.

It’s no longer just about watching movies; it’s also about having interactive experiences, making members happy in new ways, and giving them more reasons to stay on the site.
