Netflix to Remove Cheapest Ad-Free Plan

Netflix is shaking things up! They’re waving goodbye to their Basic plan, which used to be the go-to for many budget-conscious viewers. The decision is part of a bigger plan as Netflix adapts to the changing landscape of how we watch stuff.

You might have noticed that the Basic plan, known for its wallet-friendly price and ad-free viewing, quietly disappeared for new users.

Now, it’s on its way out for existing users too, starting with the UK and Canada.

List of Countries with Netflix Ad-Based Subscription

Why the change? Well, Netflix is getting cozy with the idea of ads. Their ad-supported content is gaining traction, growing a whopping 70% every quarter. It’s so popular that 4 out of 10 new Netflix sign-ups in relevant places are choosing the ad-supported option.

So, what’s left for subscribers? Once Basic vanishes, the ad-free perks will only hang out with the Standard and Premium tiers.

Netflix is basically giving us a nudge towards more options, but with a twist.
