
Netflix has announced another round of price increases across all its subscription plans for users in the USA, Canada, Portugal, and Argentina.
The ad-supported tier rises to USD7.99/month (from USD6.99), the standard tier to USD17.99/month (from USD15.99), and the premium tier to USD24.99/month (from USD22.99).
Meanwhile, in the Philippines, there are no reports of a price hike yet, the prices are still the same on Netflix’s PH website.
According to a report, the streaming service company justifies the price hike to invest in original programming, including upcoming seasons of Stranger Things and Wednesday.
Also, the company is introducing a new subscription tier called “Extra Member with Ads,” allowing ad-supported users to add someone outside their household for $7.99 per month.
The company is also expanding into live sports and special events, such as NFL games and concerts.
