MediaTek has introduced a new mid-range mobile chipset, the Dimensity 7450.
The processor uses an octa-core CPU setup with four Arm Cortex-A78 cores clocked up to 2.6GHz and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores.
It supports LPDDR5 and LPDDR4x RAM with speeds of up to 6400Mbps, along with UFS 2.2 and UFS 3.1 storage.
For connectivity, the chip supports 2G to 5G networks, including both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes.
It offers a peak 5G download speed of up to 3.27Gbps. Other features include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and support for multiple satellite navigation systems such as GPS, BeiDou, and Galileo.
Graphics are handled by the Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU, with support for common video formats including H.264, HEVC, and VP9. The chip supports displays up to WFHD+ at 120Hz or Full HD+ at 144Hz.
In imaging, the Dimensity 7450 can handle camera sensors up to 200MP and supports 4K video recording at 30fps. It also includes features like hardware-based face detection, HDR video, and electronic image stabilization.
For AI tasks, the processor includes MediaTek’s 6th-generation NPU, designed to improve performance in photography, video, and other AI-based applications.

Aside from the Dimensity 7450, MediaTek also launched the Dimensity 7450X, which shares the same specifications as the Dimensity 7450 but adds support aimed at foldable devices.
The chipsets are expected to appear in upcoming mid-range or upper mid-range smartphones, likely focusing on gaming and camera performance. No specific models have been announced yet.
