Google Rolls Out Gemini in Chrome in Philippines

Gemini in Chrome

Google has officially announced the expansion of Gemini in Chrome to more users in the Asia-Pacific region.

With this expansion, several AI features in Google Chrome are rolling out to desktop and iOS users in markets including the Philippines.

With Gemini in Chrome, users can interact with an AI assistant directly in the browser.

It can summarize long web pages, compare information across multiple tabs, and answer questions without leaving the current page.

The feature also connects with Google services such as Calendar, Maps, Gmail, and YouTube. This allows users to perform tasks like scheduling meetings, checking locations, drafting emails, and asking questions about videos while browsing.

Google is also introducing new capabilities, including image editing through text prompts in the Chrome side panel.

Another feature, called Personal Intelligence, enables the assistant to remember past interactions to provide more personalized responses.

According to Google, these features are designed with built-in security measures, including protections against known threats like prompt injection and confirmation prompts for sensitive actions.
