Google is adding new personalization features to Search, Discover, and Google News.
One of the new features is a Preferred Sources button that publishers can add to their websites.
Users can select a site as a preferred source, making it easier to see content from that publication in Google Search features such as Top Stories, AI Overviews, and AI Mode.
Google said more than 600,000 unique sources have already been selected as preferred sources.

Google is also updating Discover. Soon, users will be able to use the three-dot menu on posts to tell Google which topics or links they want to see more or less of. These requests will be remembered and used to adjust the feed.
Meanwhile, Google News on Android is getting more options for customizing audio briefings. Users can choose specific topics, see the sources behind the stories, and access links to the full articles.
The new features are rolling out starting August 20, 2026, with some becoming available in the coming days.
