Sony’s latest noise-cancelling headphones, the Sony WH-1000XM6, have officially launched in the Philippines. It is now available through Sony’s online stores and authorized dealers nationwide.
To recap, the Sony WH-1000XM6 features a new HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3, which is claimed to be seven times faster than its predecessor.
Together with it are twelve microphones that dynamically adjust noise cancellation based on the user’s surrounding environment. There’s also an Adaptive NC Optimizer, which further enhances performance based on levels and air pressure conditions.
Voice calls integrate a six-microphone beamforming system that isolates speech from background noise, and there’s a dedicated mute button for convenience.
The WH-1000XM6 is also equipped with a redesigned driver unit that helps to isolate external noise more effectively. The Auto Ambient Sound mode filters background noise selectively, letting in vital audio like announcements. Users can manually or automatically adjust these settings via the Sony Sound Connect app.
Sound quality has also been refined in collaboration with mastering engineers from Sterling Sound, Battery Studios, and Coast Mastering. The headphones’ carbon fiber dome and unique voice coil, which improve detail at all frequencies, support both classical and balanced sound profiles.
Moreover, it supports Hi-Res audio and LDAC, with compressed audio files enhanced using Edge-AI and DSEE Extreme technology. A 10-band equalizer or presets like Game EQ for shooters and Cinema 360 Reality Audio Upmix for movies are available for users to use in customizing their sound.
Smart features include Scene-based Listening and LE Audio with AuraCast.
In terms of battery, it can last up to 30 hours with active noise cancellation turned on, and a quick three-minute USB-C charge delivers up to three hours of playback.
In terms of design, Sony has incorporated an asymmetrical headband design on the Sony WH-1000XM6, which is made of synthetic leather and is now wider, to help users identify the left and right sides. There are also soft earpads made for comfort, even in prolonged use.
The headphones also fold via metal-injected joints. It comes with a magnetically sealed carrying case and is available in White, Blue, and Black colorways.
The Sony WH-1000XM6 is priced at PHP 27,999 and is now available through Sony’s official Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok stores. Interested buyers can also get it through authorized dealers nationwide.
