The modem supports 3GPP Release 17 and upcoming Release 18 specifications, delivering download speeds of up to 12Gbps and a 20% improvement in uplink performance.
It is compatible with both sub-6GHz and Wave networks and supports dual 5G SIMs with active dual data connections.
The M90 includes AI-based optimizations for power efficiency and connectivity. It can adjust power consumption based on data usage and device orientation.
The modem also features Smart Antenna technology, which improves signal accuracy and increases data throughput.
Satellite connectivity is integrated, supporting both low and high-data rate applications. The modem also uses UltraSave technology to reduce power consumption by up to 18% compared to previous models.
MediaTek has tested the M90 with industry partners, achieving speeds of 11.6Gbps in live network environments.
Engineering samples of the MediaTek M90 5G-Advanced are expected in the second half of 2025.
