Geely has launched its first plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) in the Philippines with the arrival of the Geely EX5 EM-i.
The EX5 EM-i uses a 1.5-liter aspirated engine paired with an electric motor. The engine produces 98 hp and 125 Nm of torque, while the electric motor delivers 215 hp and 262 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via an Electric Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (E-DHT).
The model has a claimed pure electric range of up to 83 km (WLTP). With a full tank and battery, the total range is rated at up to 943 km. Fuel efficiency is rated at 23.25 km/L based on internal testing.
It is equipped with an 18.4 kWh battery, supporting up to 30 kW DC fast charging. Charging from 30 to 80 percent takes around 20 minutes, while 6.6 kW AC charging takes about three hours from 25 to 100 percent.
In terms of size, the EX5 EM-i measures 4,740 mm long, 1,905 mm wide, and 1,685 mm tall, with a 2,755 mm wheelbase and 172 mm ground clearance. It comes with 18-inch wheels on the Pro variant and 19-inch wheels on the Max.
Cargo capacity is rated at 528 liters, expandable to 2,065 liters with the rear seats folded.
Both variants come with LED lighting, power-adjustable mirrors, a 15.4-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and automatic climate control with rear vents.
The Max variant adds a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, heads-up display, wireless charging, and a 16-speaker audio system.
Driver assistance features include automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and traffic sign recognition. The Max variant adds blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Geely EX5 EM-i is offered in two variants:
It comes with a portable charger and a 7 kW wall-mounted charger, and is available in multiple colors, including Alpine White, Polar Black, Jungle Green, Glacier Blue, Volcanic Grey, and Cloudveil Silver.
