Starting today, July 1st, until the end of July, everyone using the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (CAVITEX) can travel without paying tolls. This applies to all vehicles traveling through areas like Taguig, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Bacoor, and Kawit, including the new Sucat Interchange that opened on June 21.
CAVITEX is conveniently located 11 kilometers from Manila, the capital of the Philippines, and just seven kilometers from NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport). The expressway operates through two primary toll plazas: the Paranaque Toll Plaza, boasting 20 lanes with 7 lanes that can change direction, and the Kawit Toll Plaza, also equipped with 20 lanes, including 4 reversible ones.
The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) approved this toll-free period after a proposal from the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA). The aim is to showcase the new parts to more people. President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. mentioned that this move is about introducing these improved roads and expressways to more travelers.
As of 10 AM today, CAVITEX is reporting light traffic throughout all areas.
Currently, toll fees on CAVITEX range from PHP35 to PHP73 for cars and motorcycles, PHP70 to PHP146 for buses and light trucks, and PHP104 to PHP219 for large trucks and trailers.
For payment convenience, the express way accepts both RFID and cash transactions. RFID allows for seamless passage through designated lanes, while cash payments are accepted at toll booths, ensuring flexibility for all motorists using the expressway.
