Phones are getting bigger, heavier, and sometimes even thicker as manufacturers continue to add larger batteries and more powerful hardware.
But what if you could have an extremely thin phone that still packs a huge battery and promising features?
This is the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G. We will be using the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G as our daily driver, and here are our thoughts.
Design
Okay, first, let’s talk about the design.
The TECNO CAMON Slim 5G comes in multiple color variants, but we only got our hands on two, which are the Rebel Pink and our review unit, Burgundy Red.
When it comes to looks, the CAMON Slim 5G definitely stands out. The design is clean and simple, but it still looks very premium.
In terms of dimensions, aside from being slim, the phone is also lightweight. It weighs just 171 grams and measures 6.4mm in thickness.
Honestly, we were impressed by the build quality of this device. It feels comfortable in the hand, and even when using it for longer periods, we never felt like the phone was becoming too heavy.
Display
Flipping the device over, we have the display.
The TECNO CAMON Slim 5G features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1208 x 2644 resolution and support for a 144Hz refresh rate.
We mostly used the display for watching YouTube videos and occasionally playing games, and so far, it has performed well. It offers good colors and sharpness, while the 144Hz refresh rate makes navigating the home screen and scrolling through social media feel smooth.
We never really had any major complaints or bad experiences with the display. It simply did its job well, and as users, we were satisfied with it.
Cameras
Now, let’s head outside and talk about the camera department.
The TECNO CAMON Slim 5G comes with a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera on the rear. On the front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera.
For daylight photography, what we liked most about its output was the color reproduction. Photos looked sharp, vibrant, and detailed. We also didn’t encounter any major issues with crushed blacks or overly dark shadows in the photos we took.
For low-light photography, the quality is also decent. There is some visible softness in the images, but the camera still does a good job of brightening up the scene. One thing we noticed, however, is that some low-light photos had a slightly pinkish tone.
Despite that, the overall output was still good.
For selfie photography, the camera was also able to capture subjects well. However, we would suggest turning off the AI beautification mode, as it is enabled by default. If you don’t want your photos to have overly soft details or facial features to be smoothed out too much, we recommend turning this feature off.
As for video recording, both the rear and front cameras can record at up to 2K resolution at 30fps.
Performance and Gaming
Now that we’ve covered the cameras, let’s head back inside and talk about performance.
The TECNO CAMON Slim 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300e. Our review unit comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The chipset isn’t designed to compete with the latest flagship Snapdragon processors, but for everyday use, it is still quite capable.
We mainly used the phone for browsing social media, handling light tasks, and doing some multitasking. So far, the phone has handled everything well. We didn’t encounter any major performance issues or noticeable performance drops during our daily use.
For gaming, the phone handled other titles with ease, although it struggled more with Wuthering Waves. Most of the experience was still manageable, especially with the right settings.

Battery
As for the battery, the device is equipped with a 6,000mAh battery paired with 45W wired charging.
When we ran the PCMark battery test, the phone lasted around 16 hours and 52 minutes.
For a casual user, we think the battery is more than enough to get through a full day, with some extra battery left for the next day depending on your usage.
Verdict
As for the price, there is still no official pricing at the time of writing, so we can’t say for sure whether the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G offers good value for money just yet.
However, the features it offers are certainly promising.
You get a sleek and premium-looking design, a large 6,000mAh battery, capable cameras, and dependable everyday performance, all while keeping the phone thin and lightweight.
We think its overall value could have been even better if TECNO had added wireless charging support. But even without it, the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G is still an interesting device that offers a good combination of design, battery life, cameras, and performance.
