After a break from their flagship lineup, realme has officially launched the realme GT 6 in the Philippines, creating lots of excitement. Does it have the performance, new features, and design to shine in the crowded flagship market? Is it worth the wait? Keep reading to find out!
Design
When it comes to its design, it sports a different look compared to other GT series devices. Looking at it from afar it boasts a minimalistic yet elegant design. The back comes with a Nano-Mirror design made of a matte metal anodizing texture and a shiny mirror on its camera module. The back panel is not that prone to fingerprint smudges however the camera module is.

Holding the device is also comfortable to the hand thanks to its curved edge design. The colorway of the review unit that we have is silver which as you can see looks minimalistic and elegant. It has a solid build quality with a slim making it look even more premium. For me, this is one of the best-looking realme devices I’ve seen so far.
Looking around its frame, you have the power button and the volume rockers on the right side, at the top is a secondary microphone, and an IR blaster, and at the bottom is the USB C port for charging, another microphone, speaker grille, and the SIM card slot. Unfortunately, the SIM tray only supports dual 5G nano sim with no room for expandable storage.
Display

Moving towards its display, it boasts a 6.78 inches FHD+ LTPO AMOLED with a resolution of 1264 x 2780. Navigating the display is also smooth thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate.
![realme gt 6 review 213 screenshot 2024 06 20 181419](https://i0.wp.com/manilashaker.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Screenshot-2024-06-20-181419.jpg?resize=666%2C373&ssl=1)
![realme gt 6 review 214 screenshot 2024 06 20 181531](https://i0.wp.com/manilashaker.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Screenshot-2024-06-20-181531.jpg?resize=666%2C373&ssl=1)
You also don’t have to worry when using the device outdoors since it carries a whopping 6000 nits of peak brightness. Aside from that the display is also protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and an IP65 Dust and water resistance.
The display features that it offers are pretty much on par with most flagship smartphones nowadays. In terms of display quality it delivers exceptional results. We’ve been using it for the past week and so far when it comes to multimedia consumption the display of the realme GT 6 is nothing but impressive.
![realme gt 6 review 215 screenshot 2024 06 20 181705](https://i0.wp.com/manilashaker.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Screenshot-2024-06-20-181705.jpg?resize=666%2C374&ssl=1)
I am not a fan of curved displays because of the accidental touches on the sides but it does offer more screen making it more immersive when watching videos or playing video games.
Camera
Moving forward to its cameras, the realme GT6 boasts a triple camera setup that consists of a 50MP Sony LYT808 OIS main, 50MP Telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide. You also get a 32MP Sony IMX615 selfie shooter.
![realme gt 6 review 216 screenshot 2024 06 20 181142](https://i0.wp.com/manilashaker.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Screenshot-2024-06-20-181142.jpg?resize=666%2C372&ssl=1)
Unlike other smartphones that sport a higher megapixel shooter, the GT 6 is not that bad at all when it comes to quality. It delivers impressive color distribution, and a wide dynamic range with good sharpness, and details. Indoor shots also deliver a cinematic quality with deep shadows and deep blacks making the results more natural looking. There are times when sample shots look like a painting because of how clear the images are.
You also get tons of features that you can use to enhance the quality of your shots.
Ultrawide also delivers great results with no softness around the edges of the image. Even images that are captured in low light still produce a good amount of detail and sharpness in the results.
As for selfies, the 32MP selfie shooter captures good-quality selfie shots. We like how It has good details and sharpness plus it delivers a true-to-life skin tone.
When it comes to video recording, the realme GT 6 can shoot up to 4K@60FPS with ultra steady off and HDR mode on. Turning on the Ultra steady mode it can shoot up to 1080P@60FPS. Selfie videos can shoot up to 4K@30FPS with no stabilization and 1080P@30FPS with stabilization.
Performance
With the cameras out of the way, let’s talk about what powers the realme GT 6. Under the hood, it runs on a 4nm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 which is the latest chip currently out. The performance that it delivers is exceptional whether it is for full-on gaming, or productivity. It has incredible optimization which is a huge thing for us since we love multitasking. It can also handle pretty much all the games that you throw at it with no problems at all.

The configuration of our review unit is 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage. RAM can also be expanded via RAM expansion up to another 12GB.
For detailed results here are some of its benchmark results
When it comes to software, the realme GT 6 runs on Android 14 with realme UI 5.0. It comes with some pre-installed applications but most of them are apps that we usually use so we don’t need to uninstall it.

Our video loop test lasted for about 24 hours and 12 minutes which is pretty impressive. When used in gaming our battery lasts for about 6 hours and 45 minutes before we need to charge the device. As for charging, juicing it up from 0 to 100% only took us about 30 minutes which is a great pair to its long-lasting battery.

For the price of PHP34,999 the realme GT 6 is a solid option for a flagship killer smartphone. The performance that it delivers is pretty much on par with some devices at a higher price point. Aside from that you also get an impressive display, with a bunch of AI features which is one of their key selling points. The realme GT 6 is a worthy challenger in the market of flagship smartphones. So if you are looking for a flagship device then I recommend the realme GT 6.
