AMD Announces Radeon RX 9050 Desktop Graphics Card

AMD has officially introduced the Radeon RX 9050, a new entry-level desktop graphics card under the Radeon RX 9000 Series.

The graphics card is built with 16 Compute Units, 1,024 Stream Processors, and 16 Ray Accelerators. It has a game clock of 1,920MHz and can reach a boost clock of up to 2,600MHz.

For memory, the Radeon RX 9050 comes with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM on a 128-bit memory interface, paired with 32MB of AMD Infinity Cache. It offers memory speeds of up to 18Gbps and bandwidth of up to 288GB/s.

According to AMD, the Radeon RX 9050 delivers up to 10.6 TFLOPs of FP32 compute performance. It also includes AI accelerators capable of up to 170 TOPS of INT8 performance with structured sparsity.

The card has a typical board power of 92W and requires a 450W power supply with a single 8-pin power connector.

For display output, it supports DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b. It also supports hardware encoding and decoding for H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 video formats.

AMD says the Radeon RX 9050 supports several gaming features, including AMD FSR “Redstone”, AMD Fluid Motion Frames, AMD Anti-Lag 2, AMD Radeon Super Resolution, AMD FreeSync, AMD Smart Access Memory, and AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition.

For gaming performance, AMD shared the following results at 1080p using medium settings:

  • 007: First Light – 60 FPS
  • Cyberpunk 2077 – 96 FPS
  • Forza Horizon 6 – 131 FPS
  • Pragmata – 85 FPS
  • Counter-Strike 2 – 227 FPS
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 – 116 FPS
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege – 206 FPS
  • Valorant (High Settings) – 593 FPS

As of writing, AMD has not yet announced the Radeon RX 9050’s pricing or availability.
