The Social Security System (SSS) is now accepting applications for its LoanLite microloan program through the UnionDigital Bank mobile app.
According to SSS, qualified members can now apply without the need for employer certification, which is usually required for short-term loans.
LoanLite is available to qualified employed members who need short-term financial assistance. Members can borrow between PHP1,000 and PHP20,000, depending on the average of their 12 latest Monthly Salary Credits.
The loan has repayment periods of up to 90 days, with an interest rate of 8% per year.

Applications and loan transactions are completed through the UnionDigital mobile app. Eligible applications may be processed within minutes, subject to SSS and UnionDigital’s verification and other requirements.
As of now, UnionDigital Bank is the first of four participating financial institutions to offer LoanLite through its digital platform.
The other participating institutions are expected to make the service available through their own apps.
