Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Now Official

Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 (SM6650), a 4nm mobile platform built for 5G connectivity, AI processing, and efficient performance.

The chipset features a Kryo CPU running at up to 2.3 GHz and an Adreno GPU with support for OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.3, and OpenCL 2.0 FP.

It also integrates the Qualcomm AI Engine powered by a Hexagon processor with Scalar and Vector eXtensions, plus a low-power Sensing Hub for on-device AI tasks.

For connectivity, the SM6650 utilizes the Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF System, providing peak download speeds of up to 2.9 Gbps and supporting 5G mmWave and sub-6 GHz networks. It also supports Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA) for 5G+5G and 5G+4G setups.

Wireless connectivity is handled by the Qualcomm FastConnect system, enabling Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth 5.4 with Low Energy Audio.

On the imaging side, the Qualcomm Spectra Triple ISP supports up to 200MP single cameras, 4K video capture at 30fps, and HDR10 recording.

Other key features include FHD+ display support at 144 Hz, Quick Charge 4+, LPDDR5 memory (3200 MHz), and Qualcomm Aqstic audio with aptX Adaptive and Lossless audio technologies.

The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 also comes with enhanced security through the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) and Wireless Edge Services (WES).

The chipset will likely appear in upcoming midrange devices, with more details expected once manufacturers announce their first models using the new chip. Stay tuned!
