A new report claims that OnePlus and realme might stop using OxygenOS and realme UI on their smartphones.
According to Smartprix, OPPO is further integrating OnePlus and realme into its ecosystem.
The company may combine its three Android interfaces, ColorOS, OxygenOS, and realme UI, into a single platform based on ColorOS.
OxygenOS has been used on OnePlus smartphones since 2014, while realme UI has been available on realme devices since 2018. Meanwhile, ColorOS is OPPO’s Android interface and is already used on its smartphones worldwide.
If the report is accurate, realme users may notice little change since realme UI is already based closely on ColorOS. OnePlus users, however, could see a bigger difference if the OxygenOS branding and interface are replaced.
Neither OPPO, OnePlus, nor realme has officially confirmed the report.
It is also unclear when the reported change could happen or whether it would be introduced in all markets at the same time. Stay tuned.
