Acer Predator Atlas 8 Unveiled

Acer has unveiled its latest gaming handheld device ahead of COMPUTEX 2026, the Acer Predator Atlas 8.

The Acer Predator Atlas 8 is a Windows-based handheld gaming device powered by the new Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor, which is going to compete against AMD’s Ryzen Z2 chips. It features ray tracing and Intel XeSS 3, an AI-driven upscaling technology that boosts frame rates in demanding games. The chip is paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD storage.

The device sports an 8-inch WUXGA IPS touchscreen with 1920 × 1200 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also supports variable refresh rate, up to 500 nits of peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection with Gorilla Glass DXC coating to reduce reflections under ambient lighting.

Handling the thermals is a dual-fan Predator AeroBlade cooling system with a metal fan and Vortex Flow tuning. Meanwhile, battery is configured for up to an 80WHr cell, although Acer has yet to reveal its charging specifications.

The handheld is equipped with Hall-effect triggers, full-size joysticks, and a dedicated PredatorSense button. Other features include dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, microSD expansion, DTS Ultra audio, Windows 11, and Xbox Mode.

The Acer Predator Atlas 8 will launch in North America, EMEA, and Australia starting October 2026. Acer has yet to announced its pricing and other regional availability details.
