Spotify has started rolling out a new feature called Running Mode, introducing curated playlists and audio cues.

This feature delivers a personalized workout experience that transforms playlists into running sessions tailored to your goals, music taste, and tempo. It is part of the Fitness Hub and includes 25 running-specific playlists.
The curated running presets let users customize their workout type (like interval, steady, or pyramid), duration, beats per minute, or music style. It can be accessed through Spotify’s Fitness Hub, and by pressing play, Spotify will guide runners with music tailored to their workout.
Running Mode also offers optional English audio cues to help guide users through their workouts. Spotify describes the feature as a supportive running companion, offering timely cues and motivation without interrupting the music.
The feature builds on Spotify’s current fitness library, such as Peloton classes and creator workout videos, offering users another tool to support their daily movement.
According to Spotify, the reason for introducing Running Mode came from the high popularity of fitness-based prompts since the launch of Prompted Playlists, highlighting a growing user demand for personalized workout soundtracks.
The Running Mode feature is now available to select iOS users. It is also live in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Sweden. More users will be able to use this feature soon.
