Apple Music has introduced a new logo featuring a redesigned logo and wordmark, along with a new sound composition created by British producer Fred Again and NEST Acoustics.
The new logo was created through a physical process that used sound to shape its appearance.
According to Apple’s behind-the-scenes video, the team played an original composition through a submerged transducer, causing acrylic versions of the logo to move in mineral oil.
The resulting ripples and distortions were captured on camera.
The process gives the logo a fluid appearance that resembles Apple’s Liquid Glass design style.
The updated branding also includes a bolder wordmark and colorful animations, while the Apple Music app icon adopts a black-and-white design.
The new Apple Music logo is expected to roll out across platforms this week.
