BYD has introduced two new variants of the Seal 5 DM-i in the country, the BYD Seal 5 DM-i Essential and the BYD Seal 5 DM-i Dynamic.
Both variants use BYD’s 5th-generation Super DM-i plug-in hybrid technology paired with a BYD Blade Battery.
Inside, both variants come with a 10.1-inch touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity.
They produce 163 PS and 210 Nm of torque, accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds, and offer up to 55 km of NEDC-rated electric driving range. BYD also states that the vehicles can achieve more than 2,100 km of extended driving range under its certified efficiency run, while the official UNR101 combined driving range is listed at 1,600 km.
The two models share the same dimensions, measuring 4,780 mm long, 1,837 mm wide, and 1,515 mm tall, with a 2,718 mm wheelbase. They also feature front-wheel drive, a MacPherson strut front suspension, torsion beam rear suspension, 16-inch wheels, and a 7.42 kWh battery.
They also include automatic climate control, rear air vents, a rear-view camera, four rear parking sensors, cruise control, and a 522-liter trunk.
The Dynamic variant adds several extra features over the Essential model, including leather seats, a leather steering wheel, NFC card access, power-folding side mirrors, one-touch power windows, and side airbags.
