Google Vids Introduces Gemini Omni and AI Avatars

Google has introduced two new AI-powered features for Google Vids.

One of them is Gemini Omni, which lets users generate videos by describing what they want in natural language. Users can also add image references, such as photos or sketches, to help create more accurate video clips.

The feature also supports conversational editing. Instead of manually editing a video, users can type requests to change backgrounds, adjust lighting, add effects, or make other edits. Changes can be made step by step without restarting the project.

Another feature is personal avatars, allowing users to create a digital version of themselves.

Users only need to upload a selfie and a short voice recording. They can then type a script, and the avatar will deliver the message without requiring a new video recording.

Availability

The new features are available in Google Vids for Google AI Pro, Google AI Ultra subscribers, and eligible Google Workspace business customers.

On the other hand, personal avatars are currently limited to users aged 18 and older in supported regions.
