xAI has rolled out its new dictation experience for Grok on Android.
This update features a dedicated microphone icon inside the chat input field for quick speech-to-text prompts.

The feature allows users to tap the mic, speak their prompt, and have it transcribed into text before Grok generates a written reply.
However, it is not a full two-way voice mode and does not support spoken back-and-forth conversations.
In case you missed it, the speech-to-text feature was already available on iOS starting in late January. Although some iOS users also noted minor issues, such as dictation occasionally hanging during use.

To get the latest dictation feature, users may need to update the Grok app to see the new microphone button.
