ASUS has officially launched its 2025 ROG laptop series in India and included in that lineup are the ROG Strix SCAR 16 and ROG Strix SCAR 18
The newest Strix Scar is available in two screen sizes, the 16-inch ROG Nebula HDR Mini LED panel with a 2.5K (2560 x 1600) resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, 240Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and G-Sync.
The other one features a larger 18-inch ROG Nebula HDR Mini LED display with the same resolution and refresh rate, along with identical support for color accuracy and adaptive sync technologies.
These are Pantone Validated, support Dolby Vision HDR, and include MUX Switch with NVIDIA Advanced Optimus.
For multimedia purposes, both of the laptops come with a 1080P FHD IR Camera for Windows Hello.
Under the hood, the laptops are powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, clocked at 2.7 GHz, boosting up to 5.4 GHz, with 24 cores and 24 threads. They also include the Intel AI Boost NPU, capable of up to 13 TOPS for AI-related tasks.
In terms of graphics, the 16-inch model Unit carries the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU with 16GB GDDR7, while the 18-inch unit is equipped with a more powerful RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, each with 24GB GDDR7. The RTX 5090 versions support ROG Boost up to 1647MHz at 175W, combining base and overclocked frequencies with Dynamic Boost.
Both units ship with 32GB DDR5-5600 RAM, expandable up to 64GB, supporting dual-channel memory. The third variant specifically uses two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots.
Now for the storage, the Strix Scar 16 offers 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, with support for expansion up to 4TB. Meanwhile, the Strix Scar 18 includes two M.2 PCIe slots for storage upgrades.
Lastly, they are packed with a 90WHrs 4-cell Li-ion battery (4S1P configuration) and run on the Windows 11 Home operating system.
